Something and Nothing

Something And Nothing is a children’s story written for 10 and 11 year olds.

The system for signalling details of ships approaching the Bods’ mainland harbour now uses Bots. Bits on the island still practice sending the messages as they used to in the old days.

The orange Bit, Little Olga, is too young to be part of the message team. She wonders why Zereos like her are treated differently from the other Bits, called Ones.

She wonders why Bits of different colours sometimes argue.

When a major problem emerges with Bots, Little Olga, ZX (a very basic computer from nearly forty years ago) and two Bod children, Beth and Bobby have to do things that nobody thought they could, if they are to avert catastrophe.
