Still Dreaming

Still Dreaming is an album of songs written by John Sparrow in the 1990s whilst working full time as a university professor and psychologist.

These original recordings were made using a Fostex X-28H four-track cassette recorder. The main instruments were a Casio keyboard and the Dr Rhythm DR-55 16-step drum machine. Some additional brass parts were added later using Hollywood Pop Brass VST. There is a noticeable swing towards keyboard music rather than guitar.

Songs such as Sunday Morning, Cowboys Get Down and When The Ocean Seems Wide echo the piano-bar feel of the period. All Night, I’ll Be Dancing Alone and Looks Like We’re Going To Make It Now are up-tempo dance tracks.

Reggae rhythms are used in the songs Got To Get Out Of This Deal and Holy Moses Boys.

The quieter more melodic songs are Autumn Wind, Eager To See and For Love Was Almost Here.

Guitar features more strongly in Nineties (A Police Drama Theme).

The album rounds off with the quirky In My Life and a miscellany of styles in Going To Give It Up, Judy Choo and We’re Searching.

All of the songs are performed by copyrighted by John Sparrow.
